Business break-ins investigated

June 17, 2005

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Four Jefferson County businesses were broken into early Thursday morning, a Jefferson County Sheriff's Department spokesman said.

A small amount of money was taken from the Shenandoah Lanes bowing alley, Detective Shawn Bonifant said.

All the businesses had alarm systems which were activated, Bonifant said. Deputies responded to the businesses but found no one, Bonifant said.

The other businesses broken into were Dean's Lawn Mower Shop along Flowing Springs Road, the Vintage Motorcar Co. on Shipley School Road and the pro shop at the Sleepy Hollow golf course east of Charles Town.

The break-ins occurred between 3:20 a.m. and a little after 4 p.m.
