Musical benefit takes place today in W.Va.

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - A musical benefit concert for a local woman diagnosed with bone cancer is slated for today in Shepherdstown.

Tracy Albanese is battling Stage IV osteosarcoma, and her friend Cynthia Hale is helping to organize a fundraiser for her.

The event will be from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. at the War Memorial Building, 102 E. German St., beside the public library at the intersection of German and King streets.

Albanese graduated from Shepherd University in 2004 and works as an ICU nurse at City Hospital.

The benefit will feature The Townies with Steve Kemp and a special appearance by Ben Andrews, who plays Delta blues.

A silent auction will be held at the War Memorial Building at 1 p.m.
