Work on city streets could start Monday

June 11, 2005

Drivers along East Wilson Boulevard and Kuhn Avenue in Hagerstown could face delays during the coming months as work crews begin widening one roadway and repaving the other.

Weather permitting, the work in the city's South End will begin as soon as Monday, according to city information.

The work on East Wilson Boulevard will affect the area between South Potomac and Oak streets. Crews will narrow the median, install storm drains and pave the street.

Workers will limit traffic on East Wilson Boulevard to one lane for each direction of travel, but the road will be open to all vehicular traffic.

Workers also will repave Kuhn Avenue south of the intersection with East Wilson Boulevard and install new curbs. Kuhn Avenue also will be open to all vehicular traffic, but one lane will be closed.
