Suns pad lead over Legends

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Ambiorix Concepcion and Derran Watts each went 3-for-3, Mike Carp and Concepcion each homered and the Hagerstown Suns beat Lexington 7-5 Sunday to take a two-game lead over the second-place Legends in the South Atlantic League North Division.

The Suns took a 2-1 lead in the top of the second inning on Watts' RBI double and Wilson Batista's RBI triple. They extended it to 5-1 in the third on a two-run double by Jesus Flores and a sacrifice fly from Watts.

Leading 5-3 in the seventh, Hagerstown added a pair of insurance runs on back-to-back solo home runs by Concepcion and Carp.

Suns starter Blake Eager (4-3) went five innings for the victory, allowing three runs, seven hits and a walk while striking out three. Marcelo Perez and Matthew Miramontes combined to pitch three innings of shutout relief, before Carlos Muniz gave up Lexington's final two runs in the ninth.
