Gospel concert

Fishing contest

The catch-and-release contest is hosted by Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park and Williamsport Rotary Club. Open to ages 15 and younger. Participants are asked to use barbless hooks. A limited number of fishing poles and bait will be available. Awards for three age groups and three categories will be presented. Pottery festival

Regional potters and ceramic artists display and sell their works at the inaugural Cumberland Valley Potter Festival. Hiking trail appreciation

Trails Forever/National Trails Day celebrates the 20 miles of hiking trails at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. Ongoing demonstrations include making food and filtering water, how to pack your pack, fly-fishing and traditional fly tying, and a National Trails Day raffle at 3:45 p.m. for a man's and woman's outfit by Royal Robbins. Gospel fest and hog roast

Performers include Michael Birchfield, Heritage Express, the Wilsons, Inner Harbor, Heart Warmers, Debra Spates and Gospel Missionary. Also, a puppet show, face painting and moon bounce for kids. Outdoor fun show

Antietam Recreation is open to the public Saturday. Activities include a boat slide, carousel ride, cable ride, canoeing, kayaking, volleyball, basketball, swimming, horseshoes and shuffleboard from 6 to 8:15 p.m. The 2005 wild west show, "When Things Seem Impossible," begins at 8:30 p.m. Dinner also will be served. Southern rock music

Dickey Betts & Great Southern perform. Saturday, 8 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m. with opening act Hit and Run at 6:30 p.m. North American Rod and Gun Club, 12108 Belvedere Road east of Hagerstown. Tickets cost $25, with Bossman Promotions donating $1 of each ticket to the American Cancer Society. Each ticket holder is entered in a drawing for a chance to win a guitar autographed by Betts, a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band and a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Purchase tickets at Williamsport Harley-Davidson, Carpenter's World of Music or the rod and gun club. Must be 21 or older with valid ID.

Ballroom dance concert
