Bond set for man facing theft, burglary and weapons charges

Bond for a 20-year-old man was set at $250,000 during a bail review hearing Tuesday in Washington County District Court, according to court records.

Washington County District Judge Ralph H. France II set bond for Brandon Lee McKenrick, whose address is unknown, at $200,000 in connection with a burglary and theft in August 2004, and at $50,000 on charges resulting from a traffic stop in June 2004, records state.

In the August 19, 2004, incident on Northvalley Drive, McKenrick was charged with three counts of theft less than $500, first-degree burglary and unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, records state.

The Washington County Sheriff's Department alleges McKenrick stole a 2003 Honda CRV from Theodore and Holly McKenrick and money from their home, where he used to live.

In the June 16, 2004, incident on Dual Highway, McKenrick was charged with concealing a deadly weapon, resisting arrest and handgun on person, records state.

Maryland State Police allege that a trooper found a handgun on McKenrick during a traffic stop, and that he attempted to run from police before being placed in handcuffs.

McKenrick was being held Tuesday at the Washington County Detention Center, a spokesman there said.
