"I don't know if 80 percent of Americans who are for the war that are Christians, but I know this war in Iraq has nothing to do with a holy war. The Iraqis never attacked us, they had nothing to do with 9/11 and they had no weapons of mass destruction. Maybe the person attacking the Mail Caller should get their facts straight. This isn't a holy war and if you keep telling the Muslims it's a holy war they'll be more than happy to come on over and blow us all to smithereens."

"I like Mail Call if nothing else but to get a good laugh from the funny remarks. I get some of my questions answered, recipes, etc. I was happy to read several letters that stated the Catholic Church was not in charge in England. The Protestant church was and persecuted Catholics. Some Catholics settled in Maryland because of it. Back then, some churches were in charge of government, Catholic included. Let's keep separation of church and state so we all have freedom of religion."

"This is for the person who is talking about us taking care of children in this country. We are one of the richest countries in the world and we do take care of our people but there is also a point in time where we need to take care of ourselves. We also help other countries for a reason. If we ever need help they would be there to help us."

"I'd like to comment on the new Martin's - fantastic, great place, looks great, it's nice to see that the old store is now a new store and that we people of Hagerstown, Clear Spring, Boonsboro and all around need to support them. It's nice to walk in there and see friendly faces, people that are nice and they talk to you and it's very organized and very clean. We need to support them. My hat goes off for them, great work.'

"To the caller who responded to the call about Christians being for the war and atheists being against it. He said before putting themselves in the paper, they should study the facts. He stated that this is a holy war and that's why they attacked us in the first place. Fact: No one from Iraq attacked us. All but two were from Saudi Arabia. I saw Bush breaking bread with them just last week and calling them our friends and allies. War is of man, God doesn't start wars and God doesn't fight them. The term 'holy war' was not in Jesus Christ's vocabulary. It is always thrown around by evangelists and preachers always followed by a plea for money."

"It was really wonderful to see President Bush at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day. Too bad it's the first time he bothered to go there. He stood on stage and said he would never forget. Too bad he stood there and told us how we honor every soldier and we will never forget the soldiers who have made sacrifices in the Iraq war, yet his administration has hidden their coffins coming back into this country so the American people would not see the devastation of war. The less dead bodies you see and the less you hear about it, the less you worry about it. It doesn't become a part of your daily concern and that is what Bush wanted."
