Teen childbirth, parenting classes

FREDERICK, Md. - Families Plus! will offer Teen Childbirth and Parenting Classes from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, May 4 through 25, at Family Partnership, 7630-B Hayward Road. There is no charge.

Families Plus! provides a free, four-week series of childbirth and parenting classes for pregnant teenagers and their partners. The series is repeated every other month.

Safety fun day in Williamsport

WILLIAMSPORT - Williamsport Neighborhood Watch Group and The Town of Williamsport will host a safety fun day from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Byron Memorial Park.

The safety poster contest winner will be announced. Area groups will be on hand with safety information and handouts to help keep families safe. There also will be balloons, a moon bounce and a magic show. The event is free. Concessions will benefit Williamsport Junior Fire Department.

YMCA programs

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Waynesboro YMCA announces the following programs:

· YMCA Rage Competitive Cheerleading -Registration is open for fall competitive cheerleading squads.

· Tumbling Skills Class - Register in May for the summer session which will be held Monday, June 13, through Saturday, July 16.

· Kinder Kamp - Enrollment for the half-day preschool camp is now open.


· Spring Lifeguard Class - Friday, May 6, through Sunday, May 15.

· Lifeguard/Professional Rescuer CPR, CPR Challenge - Challenge only. No review. Certification will be valid before opening weekend. CPR Challenge 1 to 2:30 p.m.; Lifeguard Challenge 3 to 4:30 p.m, Sunday, May 22.

· Preschool registration for 2005-06 - The YMCA offers two-day 3-year-old preschool; three-day 4-year-old preschool; and five-day afternoon 4-year-old classes.

· Day Camp registration - Eleven full weeks of activities and adventure. Registration is open.

· Before and After School Care - For children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Before school from 6:30 to 8:40 a.m.; after school from 3:20 to 6 p.m. Limited space is available for this year. Resgistration for 2005-06 begins Saturday, May 7.

· Youth and Teen Funk Dance - For children 7 years old through sixth grade, class meets from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 4 to 5:30 p.m. Fridays (optional); for teens, seventh through 12th grade, class meets from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Fridays (optional), and 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
