"Hi, I'm a Boy Scout in Hagerstown and I was wondering if the community of Hagerstown had any ideas for an Eagle Scout service project. It would benefit any nonprofit organization and Scouts would help build, paint, organize, etc. a certain project. If there are any ideas, please e-mail me at eaglescoutproject@yahoo.com. Thank you!"

"I'm calling because I want to find out if anyone knows what's going in the old Ames shopping center? We need to find out what's going in there and start building up that community a little better and get that shopping center rolling. They did the ones out by the mall and they did the ones out by Wal-Mart, why can't they do that one? Come on Washington County."

"Do you have one or two hours of spare time a week? If so, consider volunteering for Community Action Council's Meals on Wheels program. Most routes take approximately one hour to deliver. Please call Debbie Harris at 301-797-4161 for more information.

"I was wondering if anybody out there knew the laws regarding a community taking over their homeowners association. We have terrible lawn maintenance and we are lucky if they mow once a month and as homeowners we would like to get together and organize this and have our own officers and organization and be able to run our community where the homeowners and community benefit. If anybody has any information, please put it in the paper so we homeowners have a better chance of running the community."

"Last week, the U.S. Senate turned down a billion-dollar extra budget for veterans affairs. This was for post traumatic stress disorder and mental problems plus other veterans' benefits. Why do the Republicans and President Bush keep turning down our veterans hospitals? Most veterans voted for Bush, except me, so don't cry about your benefits."

"This is a reminder that it's not too late to contact me if you want to attend the White Oak Forest Elementary School reunion on Sunday, May 1. Call Carole Smith Daly at 1-304-274-1134 or e-mail at twysdaly@adelphia.net."

"Responding to the caller from Fairplay referring to Mary Magdelene. She was the woman who Jesus had delivered from seven devils, according to Luke 8:2. Since that time, she was a very devoted follower of Jesus Christ, visited His tomb and was there at His crucifixion. Though originally a very sinful woman before she met Christ, there is no mention of her being a prostitute in the Scriptures, but because of her intense devotion, Jesus memorialized her to great honor."

"I am concerned that graduating seniors and even older former students are allowed to still come back to the high schools, roam the halls and wait outside of classrooms. I want to know what the policies are on this. Once students have graduated, I think there should be more security on the doors, especially since a lot of these schools now have daycare in the schools. Could someone please tell me the ruling on this?"

"I would like to know what the ruling is on these three-wheelers. They're out there and the land is posted 'No Trespassing,' but they are still riding them even though the police have stopped by."

"I just wanted to say thanks to the guy in the little red car who came out of the alley without stopping and almost hit me broadside. He didn't even stop to see if I was OK. He just kept on going. I just wanted to say thanks to him. We don't need anybody in this town like him. We have some decent, good people in this town."

"Just to let some of the people know in the city of Hagerstown who want to redo the downtown to bring in people. I was there last Friday and I went to three different banks on a Friday night at 5:30 and no bank was open. If you want to draw people to the city of Hagerstown, maybe you need to have the businesses open."

"A man complained about we should be thankful that we invaded Iraq because of 9/11. I'd like to point out that 11 of the hijackers were Saudi Arabians, one was French and one was, I believe, Jordanian, but none of them were Iraqis so it just doesn't make any sense why the Bush administration decided in January before he took office that they needed to invade Iraq."

"I see in the paper there is an article about the Alaskan pipeline. People don't realize that the oil that comes from Alaska is sent by a line down to California and then put on ships to go to Japan. So that's where our Alaskan oil is going - it's going to Japan, not to the United States."
