Annice L. Stelzer, 84

Annice Leora Stelzer, 84, of 250 Nottingham Road, Hagers- town, died Sunday, April 24, 2005, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.

Born July 14, 1920, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Russell F. and Clara A. Mowen Powell.

Her husband, Robert L. Stelzer, died July 24, 1995.

She was employed at Fort Lewis in Washington State, retiring in 1977.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hagerstown.

She was commander of DAV Auxiliary, Harmony 18, State of Washington and commander of Tacoma 1; member of AMVETS Post 10 Auxiliary; and AARP.

She is survived by nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great-nephews; cousins; and an aunt.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Agnes M. Sweeney and Oda Harbaugh; and one brother, Max Powell.

Memorial services will be at a later date.

KEEDYSVILLE - Dorothy Ann Davis Thompson, age 61, of 6413 Coffman Farms Road, Keedysville, died Sunday, April 24, 2005, at her home.

Born July 27, 1943, in Ranson, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Filmore H. Davis and Margie Marie Atkins McCauley and stepdaughter of the late Ralph McCauley.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Brownsville Church of the Brethren.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Claude Raymond Thompson Jr., whom she married Feb. 7, 1960; two daughters, Kathy M. DeBaufre and husband Donald of Keymar, Md., and Tracy A. Demory and husband Wayne of Boonsboro; son-in-law, Michael Longenecker of Dale City, Va.; two sisters, Wella Gressens, and Kathleen Mantione and husband Charles, all of Rochester, N.Y.; one brother, Filmore M. Davis and wife Patricia of Newport, N.C.; brother-in-law, Charles Mock of Ranson; seven grandchildren, Christon DeBaufre, Vanessa Longenecker, Crystal Thompson, Jessica DeBaufre, Michael Longenecker, Angela Longenecker and Wayne Demory Jr.; one great-grandson, Josh DeBaufre, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carla S. Longenecker, and a sister, Rebecca Mock.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. Burial will be in Brownsville Heights Cemetery.

The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Russel D. Cunningham, 80


DEC. 14, 1924-APRIL 24, 2005

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Russel D. "R.D." Cunningham, 80, of 961 Duncan Ave., and a resident of Menno-Haven, died Sunday, April 24, 2005, at the nursing home.

Born Dec. 14, 1924, in Clear Spring, he was the son of the late Russel D. and Clara Cunningham.

He was a 1942 graduate of Greencastle High School.

He retired after 24 years employment at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

He was a member of the Salem United Brethren Church of Chambersburg.

He was a member of the Harry D. Zeigler VFW Post 6319 of Greencastle, Pa., Gettysburg Civil War Roundtable and Cumberland Valley Civil War Roundtable.

He offered volunteer transportation for several organizations, including the American Cancer Society.

He is survived by his wife of more than 58 years, Helen K. Keller Cunningham; one daughter, Virginia C. Stafford of Bethany Beach, Del.; one brother, Rev. Amos V. Cunningham of Lancaster, Pa.; one grandson; nieces; and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Wava C. Hess.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, Greencastle. The Rev. Ronald L. Cook will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The Greencastle VFW Post 6319 will hold a memorial service Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Of The Good Shepherd, 2700 Luther Dr. Chambersburg, PA 17201; or to Salem United Brethren Church, 4349 Letterkenny Road, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Glenda Ann Whetzel, 61, of 16911 Shinham Road, Hagerstown Md., passed away, Friday, April 22, 2005, at her home.

Born Sunday, Sept. 26, 1943, in Keyser, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Edward Martin and the late Beulah Divelbliss Martin.
