SCORE to present Century Series for established businesses

April 24, 2005

The Washington County chapter of SCORE will offer a Century Series for established businesses.

The spring Century series will begin May 5, with a session held each Thursday in May. The sessions will be in Room 121 of the Advanced Technology Center at Hagers-town Community College from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Presented by "in-business" SCORE counselors and associates, the sessions on business-centered topics are designed for business owners and managers to "get to profits" as quickly as possible.

Following are the dates and session topics:

May 5 - Organizing Your Mission Around Your Customer/Patient/Client. Participants will be shown the value to them and their customers of having a purpose-driven mission statement.

May 12 - Operations Management and Productivity Improvement. Participants will be shown how their current business can be made more profitable by simple yet little-known productivity improvement initiatives.

May 19 - Winning the New Product/Service Development Game. Session designed to show how each employee can participate in new product/service development.

May 26 - Developing Financial Performance Outcomes. This is not an accounting session, but a hands-on session to help owners ask the right questions to effectively judge the pulse of every area of their business.

Each session costs $29. The price for all four sessions is $69. Seating is limited.

The course number is PRD400A

Two reports, Mission Critical Business Planning and Turning Problems into Dollars, are offered free, along with regular course materials and self audits. Free SCORE counseling is provided upon completion of the series.
