HERSHEY, Pa. - Brittany Main threw a five-hitter and drove in three runs to help No. 3 Greencastle remain undefeated in the Mid-Penn Capital with a 16-1 win over Milton Hershey on Friday.

Kris Root had three hits and three RBI for the Blue Devils (12-1, 9-0), while Steph Zeis had two RBI and Michele Oberholzer, Whitney Meyers, Jade Dunhour and Melanie Fries each drove in a run.


Peddie 16, No. 5 Mercersburg 11

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Josh Edgin had four hits for Mercersburg Academy in a loss to Peddie School.

The Blue Storm had a seven-run first inning but gave up eight runs to Peddie in the top of the second and could never fully regain the momentum in a game in which both teams combined for 32 hits.


Josh Davis added three hits for the Blue Storm (6-2), while Garett Fix had two hits.

No. 10 Waynesboro 9, Northern 4

DILLSBURG, Pa. - Nathan Minnich hit a three-run homer in the first inning to help Waynesboro beat Northern in a Mid-Penn Colonial game.

Jordan Reitz, Scott Livengood and Matt Anderson each added two hits for the Indians (6-5, 4-3).

Greencastle 7, Milton Hershey 2

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Nick Schreiver tripled, doubled and drove in two runs to lead Greencastle past Milton Hershey in a six-inning Mid-Penn Capital game.

Brett Thrush went 2-for-2 with an RBI and Jeffrey Fisher (3-0) pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts for the Blue Devils (7-5, 5-3).

McDonogh 14, St. John's-PH 7

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Jim Duggan had three hits, including a double, and an RBI for St. John's at Prospect Hall in the Vikings' loss to McDonogh.

Robbie Cochran had a triple and an RBI, Chris Bruce had two RBI and Scott Ritter added an RBI for the Vikings (2-10).

Grace 6, Shalom 5

A.J. Serafini singled home two runs to cap a four-run fifth inning and lead Grace Academy over Shalom Christian in a Mason Dixon Christian Conference game called after six innings because of rain.

Serafini had two hits and four RBI for Grace (3-3, 3-2) and Jake Reese also had two hits and drove in two runs.


Burkett nails ace

Emit Burkett recorded a hole-in-one at Beaver Creek Golf Club, using a 7-iron to ace the 135-yard third hole. He was playing in a group with Charlie Hawkins, Bill Shoemaker and Dick Moser.


Rams' Courtien is All-American

Shepherd University senior offensive lineman Brian Courtien was recently selected by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a 2005 NSCA All-American Athlete.

Courtien helped lead the Rams to the 2004 West Virginia Conference title as a First Team All-conference selection. A three-year starter, Courtien switched from guard to center as a senior.

The baseball clinic scheduled to be conducted today by the Hagerstown Suns and Each One, Teach One at Wheaton Park has been postponed. No makeup date has been announced.
