Kathryn P. Smith, 86

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Kathryn P. Smith, 86, formerly of McConnellsburg, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at the Shook Home in Chambersburg, Pa.

Born Oct. 30, 1918, in Cito, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and May Eader Mellott.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Fulton County Medical Center Auxiliary and the Women's Club.

She was a member of United Methodist Church in McConnellsburg, serving on committees and assisting with fund-raisers.

She is survived by her husband, John L. Smith, whom she married Sept. 7, 1935; five children, Doris Sheeder of McConnellsburg, June Smith of Burlington, Vt., John Smith of Tallahassee, Fla., Barbara Barron of Fairfield, Pa., and Rob Smith of Austin, Texas; one sister, Mary Ellen Morton of McConnellsburg; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Mellott, Ardella Raker and Helen Secrest, and three brothers, Homer Mellott, Marshall Mellott and Denver Mellott.

Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at United Methodist Church in McConnellsburg. The Rev. Donald Bard will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home in McConnellsburg, which will open at 2 p.m. Visitation also will be Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to United Methodist Church, 121 N. Second St., McConnellsburg, PA 17233.




Mary K. Busby, 78

Mary Kathleen "Kay" Busby, 78, of 19941 Leitersburg Pike, Hagerstown, Md., died on Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Towson, Md.

She was a very classy lady who was loved very much, and will be sadly missed by her surviving family.

Born Nov. 11, 1926, in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Lola Elizabeth Lewis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Clell Busby, on Aug. 17, 1981.

She was of the Methodist faith.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Queen Esther Chapter 3 and the Air Force Sergeant's Auxiliary.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna J. Barber and Kathy L. Piotrowski, both of Hagerstown; one sister, JoAnn Wilson of Hagerstown; four granddaughters, Debora Flores, Tina Watts, Tracy Ramos and Kassin Piotrowski; one grandson, Ted Piotrowski; five great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons; one niece, Michelle Sager; and two great-nieces.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Garland Lewis and Leo Wilson.

Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. C. Michael Henning will officiate.

There will be no viewing.

There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.

Frances E. Mehaffie, 73


JUNE 19, 1931-APRIL 21, 2005

EMMITSBURG, Md. - Frances Elizabeth Mehaffie, 73, of St. Catherine's Nursing Home, died Thursday, April 21, 2005.

Born June 19, 1931, in Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of the late George E. and Fannie E. Michael Mehaffie.

She is survived by sisters and brothers, George D. Mehaffie, James C. Mehaffie, Robert L. Mehaffie, Florence M. Angleberger, Connie D. Boone and Terri F. Leather; nieces; and nephews.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick. Bishop Leon Hewerdine will officiate.

There will be no viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Maryland Office, 3120 Timanus Lane, No. 106, Baltimore, MD 21244.

Arrangements are by Keeney and Basford Funeral Home in Frederick.

DERWOOD, Md. - Paul Clifford Eschbach, of Derwood, died Monday, April 18, 2005.

He was the loving husband of Barbara Locke; devoted father of Karen Eschbach; beloved son of Robert and Wilda Eschbach; and brother of Robert Eschbach Jr. and Margaret Viegas. He also is survived by many loving family and friends.

Friends will be received Sunday, April 24, 2005, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Pumphrey's Colonial Funeral Home, 300 W. Montgomery Ave., (Route 28, just off Interstate 270, exit 6A) Rockville, Md.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 25, 2005, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6701 Muncaster Mill Road, Derwood, MD 20855. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery.

Contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made in his name to Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2021 K St. NW, Suite 715, Washington, D.C. 20006-1035.




Robert L. Reese, 67


FEB. 20, 1938-APRIL 19, 2005

Robert L. Reese, 67, of Florida and formerly of Milford, Conn., died Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Born Feb. 20, 1938, in Boonsboro, he was the son of Joseph Reese and Ethel Shoop.

He owned and operated the Redwood Restaurant in Milford.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge.
