Clark E. Daley, 80


AUG. 17, 1924-APRIL 19, 2005

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Clark Eugene "Dune" Daley, 80, of the Village of Laurel Run and formerly of Old Forge Road near Glenn Furnie, Pa., died Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at the Village of Laurel Run.

Born Aug. 17, 1924, in Washington Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Chester H. and Annie M. Monn Daley.

He attended Roadside School in Waynesboro, Pa.

He retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Forest and Water in Forestry.

He was a Protestant.

He is survived by six sisters, Janet Tressler of Fairfield, Pa., Louise Calimer of Quincy United Methodist Home, Quincy, Pa., Betty M. Ressler of South Mountain (Pa.) Restoration Center, Ernestine Cole and Shirley Stull, both of Waynesboro, and Roseiline Brown of Dalton, Ga.; three brothers, Robert Daley and Clyde Daley, both of Waynesboro, and Wilbur H. Daley of Quincy United Methodist Home; nieces; and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his companion, Mary E. Patterson Kesecker, in 1992; one sister, Dorothy Barnhart; and two brothers, Edward C. Daley and Woodrow C. Daley.

Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Lochstampfor Funeral Home in Waynesboro.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

MAY 22, 1914-JAN. 26, 2005

WILLIAMSPORT - A graveside service for Ila Ruth Parker, 90, formerly of Williamsport, who died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, will be Saturday at noon at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Pastor Ray Kipe will officiate.

Arrangements are by Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Bruce W. Miller, 81, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at his home.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Berkeley Square Community Center in Martinsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 540 Butler Ave., Martinsburg, WV 25401.

Charles R. Hollyday, 49


OCT. 6, 1955-APRIL 13, 2005

Charles Ridgely Hollyday of Hagerstown, Md., passed away April 13, 2005.

He was born in Baltimore, Md., on Oct. 6, 1955.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Hollyday of Hagerstown. Also left to grieve are his parents, Milton Hollyday of Ocean Pines, Md., and Jane Jordan of Houston, Texas, as well as his sisters, Anne Smyth of Easton, Md., and Patricia Hollyday of Wilton Manor, Fla. "Ridge" will also be sorely missed by a nephew, two nieces, four great-nephews and seven great-nieces.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Allene R. Sullivan, 91

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Allene R. Davis Rinker Sullivan, 91, of Heartland and formerly of 510 Hooge St., died Monday, April 18, 2005.

Born Dec. 28, 1913, in Moorefield, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward M. Rinker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Sullivan. They were married May 30, 1947.

She was a 1932 graduate of Martinsburg High School.

Later in her life, she and her husband owned and operated Sullivan Security Service.

She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member and officer of other organizations at the church.

She was a member and officer of organizations in Martinsburg, including past president of Soroptimist International Martinsburg Chapter.

She won $10,000 in 1957 for writing a jingle for Heinz ketchup.

She is survived by one daughter, Reba H. Myers of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; one stepson, James E. Sullivan Sr. of Hagerstown; one sister, Mildred E. Valz of Richmond, Va.; one brother, Rex W. Rinker of Martinsburg; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two nieces; one nephew; three grandnieces; and one grandnephew.

A memorial service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church.

Burial will be private in Rosedale Cemetery.

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Donald G. Starliper, 48, of Hedgesville, died Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born March 6, 1957, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of Willard and Ruth Jackson Starliper of Martinsburg.
