April 16, 2005

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The Hagerstown Suns didn't dwell on their first loss of the season for very long.

Jose Sanchez and two relievers combined on a two-hitter and the Suns used three home runs to rebound for a 4-1 victory over the West Virginia Power on Friday night.

Sanchez (2-0) went six innings, allowing both West Virginia hits while walking one and striking out five. Matt Miramontes threw two hitless innings and Carlos Muniz picked up his second save.

Mike Carp and Grant Psomas hit back-to-back homers in the top of the second inning to give the Suns (8-1) a 2-0 lead. Carlos Gomez added a solo shot and Psomas smacked an RBI double in the third for a 4-0 edge.
