WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Jesse Miller homered twice and drove in six runs as No. 10 Waynesboro routed previously undefeated Cumberland Valley 15-4 on Thursday.

Miller and Paige Tanner each finished with four hits for the Maidens (5-2). Erin Keller had three hits, including two triples, and three RBI and Kristy Young had two doubles. Kristin Hess fanned six to pick up her fifth win of the season.

CVCS 14, Grace 6

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Maggie Brookens had four hits, including a home run, and four RBI to lead Cumberland Valley Christian past Grace Academy in the Mason Dixon Christian Conference.

Jerika Cordell and Sarah John each added three hits for the Blazers (3-3, 1-0). Cordell drove in three runs.

Cathren Carver had two hits and three RBI for Grace (2-3, 0-1). Rebecca Morgan added two hits in the loss.

Mercersburg 7, Jefferson 6

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Jacquee Ross drove in three runs and stole home in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Mercersburg Academy a victory over Jefferson.


Cree Riley added three hits and struck out four for the Blue Storm (5-2) while Lauren Dobish and Cree Riley each had two hits.

Bishop Walsh 14, Southern Fulton 4

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Renee Spade and Kelly Elbin each had an RBI triple for Southern Fulton in the loss to Bishop Walsh.

Courtney Trainor added two hits for the Indians.


No. 2 Frederick 9, Smithsburg 1

SMITHSBURG - Jesse Highling had three hits, including a home run, and four RBI as Frederick rolled past Smithsburg.

Mike Herald pitched five innings of one-hit ball to notch the win for the Cadets (9-0). Cory Rhodes had three hits, while Matt Kalmar and Brent Dehaven each added two.

Zach Lloyd had two hits for Smithsburg (1-5) and scored the lone run on a sacrifice fly by Joe Acre.

No. 4 Musselman 14, East Hary 2

BAKER, W.Va. - Mark Darlington belted two solo home runs and Musselman used an eight-run fourth inning to pull away from East Hardy.

Joey Pletcher, A.D. Elliott, Kirby Anderson and winning pitcher Josh Hess each had two hits for the Applemen (7-0). Pletcher drove in three runs and Anderson knocked in two.

Martinsburg 7, Hampshire 2

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Brandon Armentrout pitched a complete game with 11 strikeouts to lead Martinsburg past Hampshire.

Lonte Cook hit a two-run single for the Bulldogs (7-6), who took advantage of six walks by Hampshire pitchers.

Broadfording 16, Shalom 6

Paul Merson and Alan Myers each had two hits to lead Broadfording Christian past Shalom Christian in the Mason Dixon Christian Conference.

Jake Pryor added a two-run single and Tyler Duffey pitched three innings of hitless relief for the save for the Lions (6-4, 5-0).

Heritage 18, Grace 11

Andrew Shank went 3-for-5 with three RBI as Heritage beat Grace in MDCC action.

Brian Sandell had two hits and three RBI for Heritage (2-2, 2-2), while Hamilton Stamper had three hits, Stephen Fincham had two hits and John Ellis had two hits and scored three runs.

Jordan Hanft had three hits and three runs and Eric Hess had two hits and three runs for Grace.

Bishop Walsh 10, Southern Fulton 3

WARFORDSBURG, Pa - Tyler Elbin had three hits and two RBI for Southern Fulton in the loss to Bishop Walsh.

Matt Keebaugh added an RBI for the Indians (1-5).


Shepherd 4-10, St. Vincent 5-7

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Nicky Brown and Joe Cook each had three hits in the nightcap as Shepherd University split a doubleheader with St. Vincent.

Ryan Brady and Steve Kozak each drove in three runs for the Rams, while Josh Bowers added a pair of hits.

Kozak had three hits for the Rams (14-16) in the first game, while Brown and Brady each had two hits.

HCC 9-4, Catonsville 8-8

Marty Kaetzel singled in the winning run to cap a six-run, seventh-inning rally as Hagerstown Community College won the first game in a doubleheader split with Catonsville.

Ketzel had two hits, while Lowell Coats added two hits and three RBI and Kyle Robinson had three hits for the Hawks.

In the second game, Kaetzel and Robinson had RBI singles for the Hawks (15-12).


Alderson-Broaddus 8-7 Shepherd 0-0

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Casie Waskey pitched a pair of two-hit shutouts as Alderson-Broaddus swept a WVIAC doubleheader from Shepherd University (18-10, 12-3).


Shepherd finishes fourth

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - David Bradshaw fired a one-over 71 to lead Shepherd University to a fourth-place finish in the 16-team Slippery Rock Tournament at Oakview Golf Course.

Shepherd finished with 309, six strokes behind champion Millersville. Millersville's Scott Mickelwright was the tournament medalist with a 69.

Spencer Byrd carded a 76 for Shepherd, while Brian Snow had a 77 and Trevor Hedges and Jesse Hoffman each shot 85.


Kretzer shoots hole-in-one

Frank Kretzer shot a hole-in-one on the 165-yard, par-3 12th hole at Mountain View Country Club, using a six iron.

Bob McPherson witnessed the shot.

Cline makes hole-in-one

Boonsboro's Scott Cline recorded a hole-in-one at Yingling's Golf Center using a pitching wedge on the 75-yard seventh hole. Ed Biddinger, also of Boonsboro, witnessed the shot.
