A2 correction

April 14, 2005

Due to a source's error, a story on C1 of Monday's Morning Herald about multiple sclerosis erroneously reported the number of people who died after taking a combination of Tysabri and Avonex. One person taking the drug combination developed a serious infection called progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy and died.

Another patient, who had Crohn's disease and was treated with Tysabri, but not Avonex, died in 2003.

The Herald apologizes for the error.
