Curtis W. Bowders, 52


SEPT. 9, 1952-APRIL 8, 2005

BOONSBORO - Curtis W. "Curt" Bowders, 52, of Boonsboro, died Friday, April 8, 2005, at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Born Sept. 9, 1952, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Ralph Joseph and Delores June Cordel Bowders.

He was a 1973 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.

He was employed by Maryland Ribbon Co.

He attended Calvary Temple Church in Williamsport.

He was a member of Funkstown Moose Lodge 2135 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 694.

He is survived by two sons, Kevin D. Bowders and Shawn D. Bowders, both of Charles Town, W.Va.; four sisters, Brenda J. Bowders of Sharpsburg, Nancy M. Lida of Boonsboro and Carol L. Hafer and Mary K. Gibson, both of Hagerstown; and one grandson.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Calvary Temple Church in Williamsport. The Rev. Robert Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Beautiful View Cemetery in State Line, Md.

There will be no visitation.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements are by Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home in Hagerstown.




William M. Nichols Jr., 88


SEPT. 21, 1916-APRIL 12, 2005

William McKinley Nichols Jr., 88, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Sept. 21, 1916, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late William M. Nichols Sr. and Frances Williamson Nichols. He was raised by the late Martha Ellen Butts Nichols.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Irene Schroyer Nichols.

He retired from the City of Hagerstown, where he worked as a meter reader.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of First Christian Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a member of Friendly Circle Sunday School Class and worked on the Community Service Committee.

He is survived by one daughter, Nancy A. Watson of Williamsport; one son, Kenneth E. Nichols of Severn, Md.; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy A. Nichols, and two brothers, John A. Nichols and Herbert W. Nichols.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at First Christian Church. The Rev. Fred M. Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Myersville, Md.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742 or to the charity of one's choice.




Barbara J. Quesada, 44


JULY 4, 1960-APRIL 10, 2005

NEEDMORE, Pa. - Barbara Julia Quesada, 44, of 8926 Thompson Road died Sunday, April 10, 2005, at her home.

Born July 4, 1960, in New York City, she was the daughter of Esperanza C. Garay Quesada of Warfordsburg, Pa., and the late Guido Quesada.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Christina DeGrange of Hagerstown.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

There will be no viewing.

Charlotte M. Hart, 77


AUG. 17, 1927-APRIL 12, 2005

Charlotte Marie Viola Hart, 77, of 821 Washington Ave., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Aug. 17, 1927, in Big Pool, she was the daughter of the late William Pendleton Hovermale Sr. and Ada Pearl Long Hovermale.

She retired from Western Maryland Center.

She was a member of Calvary Temple.

She is survived by her husband, Orville Hart of Hagerstown; four sons, Terry L. Hart of Maugansville, and Theodore A. Hart, Ronald L. Hart and Michael D. Hart, all of Hagerstown; five sisters, Katherine J. Schaeffer of Maugansville, Peggy A. Plotter of Washington state, Retha J. Shank and Nancy F. Clingerman, both of Hagerstown, and Joyce L. Marconi of Nova, Pa.; three brothers, Robert L. Hovermale of Maugansville, Don Hovermale of Hagerstown and Gary L. Hovermale of San Antonio; and 12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Hovermale, Billy Hovermale and Russell Hovermale.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert V. Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




John H. Hickey, 69

John H. "Jack" Hickey, 69, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Jan. 4, 1936, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late John Francis and Mary Leoada Baughman Hickey.

He was a 1954 graduate of Hagerstown High School.

He was employed as a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
