Two men charged in armed robbery

MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Two men were charged Sunday in connection with a March 21 armed robbery at James Gang Pizzaria in Middletown, Md., the Frederick County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

Jason Charles Price, 20, of 7203 Limestone Lane in Middletown, and Thomas Kenneth Allen, 18, of 108 Ridge Road in Gaithersburg, Md., were served with arrest warrants Sunday afternoon at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. They were wanted in connection with the robbery and were apprehended earlier Sunday in the Weverton area of the C&O Canal National Historic Park, at which point they were brought to deputies. The investigation is continuing, according to the release.

Price was charged with armed robbery, second-degree assault and theft more than $500. Allen was charged with armed robbery, second-degree assault and theft less than $500.

Police gave the following account of the robbery at the 809 E. Main St. pizzeria on March 21: At 8:27 p.m., deputies were told that three white men approached one of the pizzeria's delivery people and demanded money as he walked to his car. One of the men allegedly pointed a handgun at the delivery person. The men then stole an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot.

At 10:50 that night, deputies, who had obtained a description of the suspects' vehicle, stopped a 2000 Dodge Neon on Main Street in Middletown and two suspects were detained for questioning.
