A Hagerstown man has been charged with drug offenses in connection with an incident in the 200 block of West Franklin Street last week, according to court records.

Curtis R. Bryant, 37, of 423 N. Mulberry St., was charged with possession of and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing and hindering, and resisting arrest in connection with the April 8 incident, records state.

Washington County District Judge M. Kenneth Long Jr. set bond for Bryant at $200,000 during a bail review hearing Monday.

Records state Bryant is on parole for an attempted first-degree murder conviction.

The Hagerstown Police Department alleges officers found Bryant in a bathroom of Sportsmans Den with a plastic bag containing small pieces of crack cocaine. Police allege that he threw other pieces of crack cocaine that were in his hand under a pool table after being removed from the bathroom, and he refused to obey commands to place his hands behind his back when he was taken into custody.
