Stoey-Lahaza


Jessica Mae Stoey and Justin Matthew Lahaza announce their engagement.

Ms. Stoey is the daughter of Sheila Martell of Hedgesville, W.Va. She also is the granddaughter of Jane Stoey of State Line, Pa., and the late Earl Stoey. She is a 2003 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School and is majoring in early childhood education at Hagerstown Community College. She is employed in the Fraud Early Warning Department of Citicorp Credit Services Inc.

Mr. Lahaza is the son of Ken and Teresa Lahaza of Chambersburg, Pa. He is a 2002 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School and is majoring in finance at Pennsylvania State University. He also is employed in the Fraud Early Warning Department of Citicorp Credit Services Inc.

A May 21 wedding is planned.




Seymour-Nussear


Frank and Betty Seymour of Loretto, Pa., announce the engagement of their daughter, Kaylor Frances Seymour, to Brian Patrick Nussear, son of Phil and Maxine Nussear of Hagerstown.

Ms. Seymour is a 1997 graduate of Bishop Carroll High School in Ebensburg, Pa., and received a bachelor of science degree in hotel and restaurant management from Penn State University in 2001. She is employed as sales manager with Dunes Manor Hotel in Ocean City, Md.

Mr. Nussear is a 1995 graduate of Smithsburg High School and graduated magna cum laude from Johnson & Wales University in 2001 with a degree in culinary arts. He is employed as the executive chef with Dunes Manor Hotel in Ocean City.

An Oct. 22 wedding is planned.




Broadbent - Kline


Cecil and Annette Preston of Boonsboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel Ann Broadbent, to Paul Victor Kline, son of Carolyn Kline of Smithsburg and the late Paul Kline III.

Ms. Broadbent received an associate's degree in business administration from Hagers-town Business College in 2002. She is operator of a home day-care business.

Mr. Kline is a 1997 graduate of Washington County Technical High School and Smithsburg High School. He is employed with Criswell Chevrolet & Kia.

A July 16 wedding is planned.




Niewiadomsky-Byrd


Melissa Kristine Niewiadomsky and Ryan Derek Byrd announce their engagement.

Ms. Niewiadomsky, of Germantown, Md., is the daughter of Deborah C. Niewiadomsky of Hagerstown and Hans D. Niewiadomsky of Martinsburg, W.Va. She is a 1999 graduate of Highland View Academy, attended Frederick (Md.) Community College and received a degree in early childhood education from Hood College in Frederick in 2004. She is employed through the current semester as a long-term substitute teacher with Frederick County Public Schools.

Mr. Byrd, also of Germantown, is the son of Richard and Linda Byrd of Hagers-town. He is a 1998 graduate of Highland View Academy, received a degree in respira-tory therapy from Columbia Union College in 2001, studied French in Quebec, Canada, for a year, then completed a degree in accounting at University of Maryland in 2004. He is employed by KPMG in Washington, D.C.

A July 24 wedding is planned.




Shank-Miles


Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Shank of Clear Spring announce the engagement of their daughter, Sara Elizabeth Shank, to John Alfred Miles III, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Miles Jr., of Clear Spring.

Miss Shank is a 2003 graduate of Shalom Christian Academy and attended Hagerstown Community College in the dental assistant program. She is employed as a dental assistant at Robinwood Dental Center.

Mr. Miles is a 1997 graduate of Clear Spring High School and a 2003 graduate of Wyoming Technical Institute. He is employed with Automotive Metal Performance.

A Dec. 3 wedding is planned.




Williams-Patterson


Melissa Williams and Wilbert Patterson announce their engagement.

Ms. Williams is the daughter of Betty Burton and David Williams of Hagerstown. She is a graduate of South Hagerstown High School. She is employed with Citicorp Family Center.

Mr. Patterson, originally from Baltimore, is the son of the late Marilyn and Wilbert Patterson. He is a graduate of Baltimore City College. He works with the National Wildlife Federation.

An October wedding is planned.
