Berkeley Springs, W.Va. - The oldest form of printing using moveable type, letterpress, is still in practice in a Berkeley Springs stationery store on North Washington Street.

The method, in which ink is passed over a raised image, provides a texture that can be both seen and felt.

The Written Word, owned by husband and wife Paul and Marti Rubenstein, prints various jobs such as wedding invitations and letterhead, using a variety of letterpresses.
