Gladys V. Kriner, 75


NOV. 14, 1929-APRIL 1, 2005

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Gladys V. Crilley Kriner, 75, of 528 Fairview Ave., died Friday, April 1, 2005, at her home.

Born Nov. 14, 1929, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Clarence B. Sr. and Lulu Yingling Crilley.

Her husband, Lloyd W. "Bill" Kriner, died Jan. 15, 2005. They were married Dec. 24, 1949.

She attended Washington Township High School.

She was employed at Teledyne Landis Machine Co. for 30 years as an inspector. She retired in 1992.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Waynesboro, and Alpha and Omega Sunday School class. She also worked with the funeral committee.

She is survived by one daughter, Bonnie L. Benshoff of Waynesboro; one son, Robert C. Kriner of Chambersburg, Pa.; one stepson, Lloyd W. Kriner Jr. of Waynesboro; three sisters, Mary Menges of Hanover, Pa., and Fern Pryor and Henrietta Rowe, both of Waynesboro; three brothers, Clarence Crilley Jr. of Zullinger, Pa., Lorenzo Crilley of Waynesboro and Stanley Crilley of Fairfield, Pa.; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; nieces; and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, Waynesboro. The Rev. John F. Huff will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro.

Richard C. Derrick, 64


JAN. 2, 1941-APRIL 1, 2005

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Richard C. Derrick, 64, of 801 Fox Meadow Road, died Friday, April 1, 2005, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born on Jan. 2, 1941, in Shamokin, Pa., he was the son of the late Clarence W. and Emily C. Derr Derrick.

He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot in 1990, where he worked as a planner and supervisor.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was a member of Scotland United Methodist Church.

He was a member of American Legion McCartney Post 232, Dry Run, Pa.; Hume-McNeal-Byers AMVETS Post 224, Chambersburg; Masonic Lodge 315 F&AM, Shippensburg, Pa.; and Tall Cedars of Lebanon Valley Forest 145.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Swanger Derrick, whom he married Sept. 1, 1963; three daughters, Darla Derrick of Camp Hill, Pa., Deborah Peret of Surfside Beach, S.C., and Tara Hornbaker of Shippensburg; one sister, Susan D. Frederick of Greencastle, Pa.; two brothers, William M. of Greencastle and Jon W. of Marion Heights, Pa.; and five grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg. The Rev. Martin H. Lorah will officiate. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, where military honors will be performed by members of the American Legion McCartney Post 232 Color Guard.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be recited today at 8 p.m. at the funeral home by members of Lodge 315.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Scotland United Methodist Church, 4040 Scotland Main St., Scotland, PA 17254; or to American Heart Association, Franklin/Fulton Division, 225 E. King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.




Roger C. Shoop, 63


AUG. 23, 1941-APRIL 1, 2005

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Roger Calvin Shoop, 63, of 212 Butternut Lane, died Friday, April 1, 2005, at his home.

Born Aug. 23, 1941, in Mercersburg, Pa., he was the son and stepson of Betty Taylor Shoop Bordner and Lloyd Bordner of Sunbury, Pa., and the son of the late Roger H. Shoop.

He was a graduate of Greencastle (Pa.) High School.

He was a former employee of the Silk Mill.

He was a member of Calvary Independent Church of Shamokin Dam, Pa.

He was a member of Goodfellows Club of Sunbury.

In addition to his mother and stepfather, he is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Needham Shoop, whom he married Aug. 5, 1961; three daughters, Mary A. Baughman and Betty L. Gordon, both of Chambersburg, and Stacey L. Shoop of Mercersburg; two sons, Robert E. Shoop of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Clemuel J. Shoop of Mercersburg; one sister, April Shirk of Sunbury; one brother, Larry Bordner of Sunbury; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, Mercersburg. The Rev. James W. Herman will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, Pa.

Viewing will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Ethel L. Hebb, 81


APRIL 6, 1923-APRIL 1, 2005

Ethel Louise Hebb, age 81, a resident of Ravenwood Lutheran Village and formerly of Falling Waters, W.Va., died Friday, April 1, 2005, at Washington County Hospital.

She was born in Shepherdstown, W.Va., April 6, 1923, to the late Robert Lee Sr. and Margaret Howell Kave.

Her husband, Raymond Aldeen Hebb, whom she was married to for almost 57 years, died on March 11, 2003.

She had previously been employed by Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown, Md., during the 1940s and 1950s.
