City budget highlights

The City of Hagerstown released its budget plan Thursday. The City Council will consider the budget measures over the next few weeks and will adopt it in late May.

· Total planned expenditures - $107.7 million

· Proposed city property tax rate - Won't increase. Real-estate property tax will remain at 79.8 cents per $100 of assessed value.

· Projected city property tax revenues - $17.3 million

· Number of full-time employees - 461

· Total proposed wage and benefits spending - $29.2 million

· Total proposed outstanding debt, including past debt still owed - $45.3 million

· Total cost of planned capital projects - $32.8 million.

· Most expensive single planned project - Phase II of the Waste Water Treatment Plant upgrades; $5.1 million.
