Grand opening set for Loyalton facility


A new Alzheimer's and memory care residence is opening in Hagerstown.

On Tuesday, April 5, at 6:30 p.m., and Wednesday, April 6, at 7:30 a.m., Loyalton of Hagerstown will hold a grand opening for the public to visit the new facility at 20009 Rosebank Way.

Refreshments will be provided.

Deadline to sign up for fishing clinic near


The deadline to sign up for free summer fishing clinics is Monday, according to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs is the trademark of the summer fishing clinics, some of which will be held at Greenbrier State Park near Boonsboro. The clinics are free but pre-registration is required.

Sponsored by the Sportfish Restoration Fund and the Future Fishermen Foundation, the clinics are offered to Maryland youth by the DNR aquatic resources education staff and characteristically reach more than 1,000 students a year.

Registration forms can be picked up at most clinic sites, area libraries, in the main office of elementary schools that are near a clinic site or printed from the DNR Web site at: dnr.maryland.gov/education/hofnod.html.

The clinics will be held on the following dates: July 5-8, 11-15, 18-22 and 25-29; and Aug. 1-5. Each date has a morning session from 8 to 11 a.m. and an afternoon from noon to 3 p.m.
