Suns extend stadium lease through 2006

March 22, 2005

The Hagerstown Suns announced Monday they have extended their lease agreement with Municipal Stadium for an additional season. The lease now goes through the 2006 baseball season.

"We're very, very pleased to once again extend our lease agreement," said Rich Neumann, vice president of development for Mandalay Baseball Properties, the Suns' ownership group. "We're happy with the progress of the team under (Suns General Manager Kurt Landes') leadership, and we're excited about the long-term potential of the local market."

The Suns experienced a 27 percent increase in attendance at Municipal Stadium in 2004. Last season's attendance of 128,508 was the team's highest since 1992.

"Mandalay Baseball Properties and the Suns are deeply committed to this community," Landes said. "We look forward to a great season this year and in the many years ahead."
