Aircraft association is collecting supplies for wounded soldier

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Martinsburg Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1071 is assisting Soldier's Angels in collecting comfort supplies to be sent to combat support hospitals in Iraq and wold-wide.

The local EEA chapter is preparing "Hero Packs" for Operation Iraqi Freedom wounded and collecting scrubs for the doctors and nurses at the combat support hospitals. Each "Hero Pack" contains pajamas or a T-shirt and sweatpants, socks, underwear, a small fleece blanket, travel-sized personal hygiene items and cards and letters from local school children. All clothing must be new. The scrubs for the doctors and nurses can be new or used, clean and in good condition.

Additional requests include stethoscopes, otoscopes, thumb drives, external hard drives, fashion magazines, sports magazines, hand-held radios, AA batteries, winter gloves, DVDs, instrument holders for scissors/trauma shears, trauma shears, flashlights, music CDs, seat belt cutters, medical books, underarmor, and other items.

Donations can be taken to the following Martinsburg locations: Prettyman Broadcasting, King Street; Parson's Ford, Moler Avenue; Kmart, W.Va. 9; or St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Monetary donations can be mailed to EAA 1071, 275 Aviation Way, Martinsburg, WV 25401.
