CUMBERLAND, Md. - HCC exploded for sixth runs with two outs in the sixth inning as it came from behind to defeat Allegany 7-6 Thursday in the Maryland JuCo Conference.

Robby Davis threw three innings of hitless relief to get the save for the Hawks, who added the winning run in the seventh to seal their eighth straight win. Matt Tedrick had two hits and two RBI for HCC (9-3, 2-0) while Eric Laird had two hits and an RBI, Steve Von Bloch and Nathan Himes each had two hits and Lowell Coats had a two run double.

Knepper swims at NCAAs


WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Williamsport High School graduate Megan Knepper swam legs of the 200-yard freestyle relay (13th, 1:32.23) and 400 medley relay (17th, 3:43.03) for Maryland at the NCAA Championships.

Single game tickets for Hagerstown Suns home games will go on sale Monday. VIP tickets cost $8, general admission seats are $6 and general admission for seniors (60 and up) and chidren (12 and under) are $5.

Hub wrestling tournament


The 26th annual North Hagerstown Hub Boosters Wrestling Tournament is set for April 2 at North.

There are three divisions - Junior (grades 7-9); Senior (grades 10-12); and Open (post-high school athletes).
