Benjamin Bunny and Riley the Rabbit were given as gifts. The gift recipient could not care for them. They both are males with brown, gray and white coats. They get along well with each other and can be housed together. Benjamin, Riley and their friends - including cats, dogs and guinea pigs - are waiting to find new homes at the Humane Society of Washington County.
Pet tip: Do not give live animals as Easter pets
Every year, animal shelters receive unwanted Easter pets that are given up after the owners have lost interest in them. Unfortunately, many must be euthanized due to lack of available homes. Some are released into the wild when people tire of them. Unable to fend for themselves, they usually die of starvation, exposure to the elements or are preyed upon by other animals. Instead of purchasing a live animal, consider giving plush toys as gifts for Easter.
