COLLEGE BASEBALL

COCOA BEACH, Fla. - Hagerstown Community College finished a week-long road trip Thursday with close victories against Kalamazoo Valley and Deleware Tech to wrap up the Cocoa Expo on a six-game winning streak.

Andy Taylor pitched a five-hitter with eight strikeouts as HCC (7-3) blanked Kalamazoo Valley, 2-0. Drew Counselman had two hits, including an RBI single in the fifth. Kyle Robinson added two hits and Matt Tedrick also had an RBI single.

Hagerstown used a suicide squeeze in the bottom of the eighth to edge Deleware Tech, 2-1. Lowell Coates led off the inning with a double and advanced to third on a passed ball. A pair of walks loaded the bases for Nathan Himes, whose bunt down the first-base line allowed Coates to score the winning run.
