Dolly M. Wood, 79

BOONSBORO - Dolly McElroy Wood, 79, of Reeders Memorial Home, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at Reeders Memorial Home.

Born Jan. 19, 1926, in Jefferson, Md., she was the daughter of Llewellyn and Nettie Whittington.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Capt. Robert J. McElroy, in 1980, and her second husband, Francis C. Wood, in 1996.

She retired from Prince George's County Board of Elections in 1991.

She is survived by one daughter, Jacqueline Aisquith of Pipestem, W.Va.; two sons, Robert McElroy and John McElroy, both of Hagerstown; one sister, Betty Randall of Hagerstown; two brothers, Harry Whittington of Frederick, Md., and Pete Whittington of Williamsport; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Friday at 6 p.m. at Ringgold Church of Christ. Minister Don Conley will officiate.

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.


There will be no viewing.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Lois A. Trumpower, 71

HANOVER, Pa. - Lois A. Trumpower, 71, of Hanover, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at her home.

Born April 3, 1933, in Little Orleans, Md., she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Almeda McGowan McCusker.

She retired from AAI Corporation in Hunt Valley, Md.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Hanover, where she was a member of Pro-life.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Seniors Club.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Edward L. "Jim" Trumpower; one daughter, Ann Y. White of Guyton, Ga.; three sons, Barry E. Trumpower of Littlestown, Pa., Rodney K. Trumpower of Monktown, Md., and Jeffrey D. Trumpower of New Freedom, Pa.; one sister, Shirley Myers of Hanover; two brothers, Charles P. McCusker of Clear Spring and Larry S. McCusker of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one uncle; nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, William McCusker.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Hanover. The Rev. John A. Szada Jr. will be celebrant. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Edgrove, Pa.

The family will receive friends Friday from 4:30 to 9 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home in McSherrystown, Pa., where a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m.

James H. Lizer, 90

MARCH 2, 1915-MARCH 2, 2005

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - James H. Lizer, 90, of Shook Home and formerly of 262 Park St., Waynesboro, Pa., died Wednesday, March 2, 2005.

Born March 2, 1915, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late James H. Lizer Sr. and S. Mabel Spangler Lizer.

He was a 1933 graduate of Waynesboro High School.

He retired in 1980, after 50 years of service from Landis Tool Co., where he last worked as the cost accountant.

He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, where he was a member of Crider's Men Sunday School Class.

He was a member of Landis Tool Duck Pin Bowling League and National AARP.

He is survived by his wife, Martha K. Humer Lizer, whom he married Aug. 28, 1940; one daughter, Sue A. Hadden of Waynesboro; one granddaughter; three nieces; two nephews; grandnieces; grandnephews; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Sepulveda.

Memorial services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home in Waynesboro. The Rev. John L. Rauch will officiate.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

There will be no public viewing; however, the family will receive friends Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, 104 N. Potomac St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.

Kenneth R. Lewis, 65

OCT. 28, 1939-MARCH 1, 2005

SMITHSBURG - Kenneth Russell Lewis, 65, of Henrietta Street, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Oct. 28, 1939, in Smithsburg, he was the son of Evelyn M. Pryor of Smithsburg and the late Harrison E. Lewis.

He was a 1958 graduate of Smithsburg High School.

He worked for Mack Trucks in Hagerstown for 35 years, retiring in 1997.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 171.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his companion, Claudia Springer of Hagerstown; one uncle; one aunt; and cousins.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at J.L. Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg. Pastor Mark C. Mooney will officiate. Burial will be in Smithsburg Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Earl F. Shelly, 84
