Hagerstown residents face drug charges

FREDERICK, Md. - Two Hagerstown residents were charged with drug- and firearm-related offenses after a Friday traffic stop in Frederick County, according to a release from the Frederick County Sheriff's Department.

Kristina Angelina Imbraglio, 21, and John Thomas Pheabus, 31, both of Hagerstown, were charged after police searched the vehicle in which they were riding, police said.

At about 6:25 p.m., deputies saw a vehicle stopped in an intersection on Monocacy Boulevard, near the City of Frederick. They also saw four children, who were 5 years old or younger, unrestrained inside the vehicle and a fifth child was outside the vehicle, police said.

A police dog trained in drug sniffing alerted officers to the presence of drugs, police said. Deputies alleged that they found a syringe filled with heroin, caplets filled with heroin, cash and a loaded .45-caliber semiautomatic handgun that was cocked.

Imbraglio and Pheabus were charged Friday with transporting a firearm while engaged in drug trafficking, having a loaded firearm where an unsupervised minor could gain access and possession of heroin with the intent to distribute.

Pheabus was being held on a $250,000 bond at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, according to jail information. Imbraglio was being held there on $65,000.
