Linda C. Sacrey, 57


FEB. 19, 1948-FEB. 27, 2005

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Linda Christina Sacrey, 57, of Cameron and McClay Street, and formerly of Waynesboro, Pa., died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at Harrisburg General Hospital.

Born Feb. 19, 1948, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of Stella I. Hose Sacrey of Waynesboro, and the late James E. Sacrey.

She was a 1965 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School.

She was employed as a machine operator at Connie's Sportswear, Waynesboro, retiring in 1973.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Waynesboro.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by four sisters, Jean I. Smith, Carolyn A. Smith, Treva M. Wolfe and Sherry L. Sacrey, all of Waynesboro; one brother, James E. Sacrey Jr. of Waynesboro; nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Jane Sacrey.

Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. The Rev. John L. Rauch will officiate. Burial will be in Burns Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

GLEN DALE, W.Va. - Devonia K. Fox, 61, of 802 Reiley Hill Road, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at Manorcare Health Services in Chambersburg, Pa.

Born Jan. 19, 1944, in Mercersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Rev. Fred L. Sr. and Carrie Kuhn Robinson.

She was a former employee of Sagnar Sewing Co. of McConnellsburg, Pa.

She is survived by her husband, Robert R. Fox, whom she married Nov. 17, 1979; two daughters, Vania R. Fox of Glen Dale, and Penni L. Legg of New Port Richey, Fla.; two sons, Jeffrey K. Fox of Marietta, Ga., and Mark A. Fox of New Port Richey; six sisters, Velma Schooley, Dorcas Mellott, Shelby Carbaugh, Joyce Zeger and Bonnie Harbel, all of Mercersburg, and Sharon Ott of Greencastle, Pa.; four brothers, Carl Robinson, Paul Robinson and Donald Robinson, all of Mercersburg, and Bobby Robinson of Chambersburg; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred L. Robinson Jr. and James H. Robinson, one stepsister and one stepbrother.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Clayton Memorial Church of God, Mercersburg. The Revs. Marcus E. Tanner and Clarence W. DeHart will officiate. Burial will be in McMechen (W.Va.) Cemetery.

A viewing will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements are by Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, Mercersburg.




William J. Hensley, 59

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - William J. "Bill" Hensley, 59, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born Oct. 26, 1945, in McDowell County, W.Va., he was the son of the late William J. and Mary Hazel Hall Hensley.

He was employed by C&P Construction.

He was a member of Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Hayslette Hensley; two daughters, Cheryl A. Hutzler and Vanessa G. Greenfield, both of Martinsburg; three sons, William S. Hensley and Mike L. Hensley, both of Martinsburg, and Tony J. Hensley of Inwood, W.Va.; four sisters, Madeline C. Larson of Gerrardstown, W.Va., Phyllis Kenn of Phoenix, Ariz., Rosemary Beange of Winchester, and Brenda Oliver of Bedford, Va.; two brothers, Darrell Hensley of Maryland and Ellis Hensley of Port Republic, Md.; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Fayetta Hensley, and one brother, Kenneth Hensley.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. Dr. Don Smith and Dr. Michael Bageant will officiate. Burial will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Grace I. Haden, 76


DEC. 19, 1928-FEB. 27, 2005

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Grace Isabel Haden, 76, of 236 Cameo Drive, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.

Born Dec. 19, 1928, in London, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Annie Louise Whitworth Hammond.

She is survived by her husband, William J. Haden; three children, Linda Shepperd of South Boston, Va., Edward Haden of Abingdon, Md., and Cynthia Haden of Chambersburg; one sister and four brothers, all living in Canada; six grandsons; and one great-grandson.

Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, Chambersburg.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 159 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.




William O. Whiteman, 83


FEB. 23, 1922-FEB. 26, 2005

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - William O. Whiteman, 83, a resident of Shook Home, and formerly of 148 E. Catherine St., died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at the nursing home.

Born Feb. 23, 1922, in Phoebus, Va., he was the son of the late James L. and Maggie L. Jones Whiteman.

His wife, Thelma Grace Sites Whiteman, died May 15, 2004. They were married Oct. 28, 1945.

He retired in 1979 from Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, where he worked for 31 years.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
