Washington County Delegation bills


HB 905 - Makes a violation of the Washington County animal control ordinance a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment of up to 30 days or a fine of $1,000 or both. Hearing scheduled March 17 at 1 p.m. in the House Environmental Matters Committee.

HB 906 - Authorizes the Board of County Commissioners of Washington County to adopt regulations to register alarm system contractors and alarm users. Hearing scheduled March 15 at 1 p.m. in the House Economic Matters Committee.

HB 907 - Authorizes the town of Boonsboro to undertake and carry out specified urban renewal projects for slum clearance and redevelopment. Hearing scheduled March 17 at 1 p.m. in the House Environmental Matters Committee.

HB 908 - Authorizes the creation of a state debt not to exceed $75,000, the proceeds to be used as a grant to the board of directors of the Regional Community Health Care Center Foundation Inc. for the acquisition of the Community Free Clinic.

HB 909 - Authorizes the creation of a state debt not to exceed $75,000, the proceeds to be used as a grant to the mayor and city council of the city of Boonsboro for the construction of King Farm Park, including a pavilion, ball fields, a pedestrian bridge and a concession stand.

HB 910 - Authorizes the creation of a state debt not to exceed $30,000, the proceeds to be used as a grant to the board of directors of the Discovery Station at Hagerstown Inc. for the construction of exhibits and renovation of the Discovery Station at Hagerstown site.

HB 911 - Authorizes the creation of a state debt not to exceed $200,000, the proceeds to be used as a grant to the board of directors of Aspiring to Serve Inc. for the construction and renovation of a building to serve as a homeless shelter and rental space for nonprofit organizations providing social services.

HB 912 - Increases the salary for the sheriff of Washington County to $80,000. Hearing scheduled March 17 at 1 p.m. in the House Environmental Matters Committee.

HB 913 - Requires the Washington County Electrical Board to adopt regulations for the approval of specified licensing agreements, the enforcement of codes and specified permitting issues. Hearing scheduled March 10 at 1 p.m. in the House Economic Matters Committee.

HB 914 - Authorizes the Washington County Commissioners to adopt regulations for restricting the growth of non-noxious weeds within the county. Hearing scheduled March 17 at 1 p.m. in the House Environmental Matters Committee.

HB 915 - Requires the sheriff of Washington County to establish eligibility criteria for inmates participating in a home detention program, a work release program or a pretrial release program. Heard Feb. 25 in the House Judiciary Committee.

HB 916 - Allows a county procurement officer to award a procurement contract on the basis of revised bids under specified circumstances. Hearing scheduled March 9 at 1 p.m. in the House Health and Government Operations Committee.

HB 917 - Increases the salary of the president and members of the Washington County Board of Education. Hearing scheduled March 22 at 1 p.m. in the House Ways and Means Committee.

HB 918 - Increases the compensation for substitute members of the Washington County local board of elections; increases the compensation for election judges in Washington County.

HB 1186 - Establishes a Washington County Property Tax Commission. Hearing scheduled March 1 at 2:30 p.m. in the House Ways and Means Committee.

HB 1187 - Alters the composition of the salary study commission for Washington County. Hearing moved to March 17 at 1 p.m. in the House Environmental Matters Committee.

HB 1272 - Allows the Washington County Board of County Commissioners to collect a building excise tax on construction and impose different tax rates on nonresidential building types. Hearing scheduled March 16 at 1 p.m. in the House Ways and Means Committee.

HB 1447 - Alters the distribution of total hotel rental tax revenue collected in Washington County.

HB 1522 - Creates a state debt of up to $200,000 for North Hagerstown High School stadium.

SB 374 - Designates a specified weekend each year to be a tax-free weekend during which the sale of certain clothing, footwear, school supplies and personal computers are exempt from the sales and use tax.

SB 375 - Alters the circumstances under which a contractual employee who transfers in the state Personnel Management System must be given credit for service for purposes of pay grade, annual leave and seniority rights. Hearing scheduled March 4 in the Senate Finance Committee.
