Delegation seeks funds for stadium

February 25, 2005|by TAMELA BAKER

ANNAPOLIS - Washington County lawmakers filed legislation Wednesday seeking up to $200,000 in bond money for construction of a proposed stadium at North Hagerstown High School.

Del. Robert A. McKee, R-Washington, said the county delegation to the General Assembly filed the bill hoping that before the end of the legislative session, Gov. Robert Ehrlich will put money for bond bills in his capital budget.

If approved, the money would be granted to the board of directors of the North Hagerstown High School Athletic Boosters, and could be used for planning, design and construction.

The Boosters, in turn, would have to provide matching funds for the project.
