A Hagerstown man accused of sexually assaulting two teenage girls in Montgomery County, Md., was arrested near his home Monday after a traffic stop, police said.

Pov N. Srun, 33, of the 800 block of West Washington Street, was charged this morning with one count of second-degree rape, one count of first-degree sex offense, one count of second-degree sex offense and found counts of third-degree sex offense, Montgomery County Police said in a press release.

Police said the first assault happened Jan. 25 in the parking lot of Norbeck Montessori Day School. A man forced an 18-year-old Brookville, Md., woman into her vehicle, then into his silver Honda minivan, where he forced the woman to have sex with him, police said.

The second attack happened Monday behind the Wildwood Shopping Center in Bethesda, Md. A 16-year-old girl who was shopping at the center was returning to her car when she was forced into her minivan and sexually assaulted, police said.

A witness saw a man get into the same Honda Odyssey minivan and gave police a description of the vehicle and a license plate number.

Lt. Michael King of the Hagerstown Police Department said an off-duty Montgomery County police officer saw the car and followed it. In Hagerstown, he called a police dispatcher and asked for assistance.

King said Hagerstown Detectives Casey Yonkers and Christopher Kayser and Officer Chad Woodring responded and stopped the minivan at about 5:30 p.m. at West Franklin Street and Bryan Place in the West End, not far from his home.

King said the charges against Srun are in Montgomery County and none are in Washington County.
