Former Lenox site is sold to investors

WILLIAMSPORT - A Philadelphia-based real estate investment group has bought the former Lenox distribution center, said Art Pasquarella, chief operating officer with BPG Properties Ltd.

BPG Properties is looking for a tenant or tenants for the 167,780-square-foot building, Pasquarella said.

Industrial Lane Investors LLC, c/o Berwind Property Group, bought the 16604 Industrial Lane building for $5 million on Feb. 7, according to the Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation Web site.

Industrial Lane Investors is the partnership Berwind Property Group used to buy the building, Pasquarella said. Berwind Property changed its name to BPG Properties Ltd. on Jan. 1.

Pasquarella said the group was attracted to the property because the building easily can be subdivided - it's already divided into two units - and it is near Interstates 70 and 81. The site is a good long-term location for distribution, trucking companies and manufacturers, he said.

The 15.4-acre site means another 100,000 square feet can be added as an expansion or a new building, he said.

Lenox moved out of the building when the company opened a bigger distribution center at 16507 Hunters Green Parkway last year.

Lenox sells fine and casual china, stemware, flatware, figurines, ornaments, picture frames, clocks, vases, serving pieces, and metal, china and crystal gifts.
