Correctional center inmate faces charges in stabbing

A Maryland Correctional Training Center Inmate will face additional charges in Washington County Circuit Court in connection with a stabbing last year, court records state.

Washington County District Judge M. Kenneth Long Jr. found probable cause on six charges against William P. Arenz, 23, during a Wednesday hearing, records state.

Arenz was charged with first- and second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and possession of a deadly weapon with intent to injure, according to records.

Correctional officers allege Arenz stabbed another inmate, Ronald A. Sank, in the head and upper body at the training center on Nov. 1, 2004. Sank was treated at Washington County Hospital and released back to custody, records state.
