February 12, 2005

ROUZERVILLE, Pa. - A female clerk suffered a minor stab wound in her arm during a robbery Friday morning at 7-Eleven in Rouzerville, police in Washington Township said.

According to police, a man entered the store at 11374 Buchanan Trail East and asked the clerk for change for a dollar bill. When the clerk opened the cash register to give him change, the man brandished a knife and ordered the clerk to step back. When she tried to close the cash drawer, he jabbed her in the right forearm, causing a minor injury, police said.

The clerk stepped back, and the man removed cash from the drawer and fled, police said.

Police did not release the amount of money that was taken.

Witnesses told police that the man might have been using the pay phone outside the store prior to the robbery.

A K-9 unit from the Waynesboro (Pa.) Police Department was called in to assist in the search for the robber.
