HANCOCK - Hancock Mayor Daniel A. Murphy and two residents recently elected to the Town Council are to be sworn in Monday at 7 p.m.

Murphy was re-elected to a fifth term as mayor in the Jan. 31 town election.

He beat sitting Councilman Greg Yost for the post by 78 votes.

Maurice "Rusty" Wheeler and Robert Anthony McCusker were elected to the Town Council.

Incumbent Councilman Darwin Mills lost his bid for re-election. Resident Frank Courtney also was defeated in his attempt to win one of two open spots on the council.

The mayoral term is two years, while a council term is four years.

The swearing-in ceremony is to be held at Hancock Town Hall and Community Center at 126 W. High St.

A Town Council meeting will follow the swearing-in ceremony. A cookie and punch reception will be held after the meeting.
