All charges against a Hagerstown man charged in connection with a shooting last year have been forwarded to Washington County Circuit Court.

Washington County District Judge M. Kenneth Long Jr., during a Wednesday preliminary hearing, found probable cause to forward to Circuit Court all counts against Jamel J. Smith, 19, of 309 S. Mulberry St.

Smith was charged with attempted second-degree murder, attempted armed robbery, attempted robbery, first- and second-degree assault and attempted theft less than $500 in the Dec. 10, 2004, shooting, police said.

The shooting occurred at about 11 p.m. at the Washington Gardens complex on Security Road. Police said the 17-year-old victim was shot twice in the right leg following a dispute, allegedly over money.

Police allege Smith was involved in the dispute, but was not the man who pulled the trigger.
