February 08, 2005

WILLIAMSPORT - A chili cook-off at Williamsport Retirement Village Thursday will benefit The Salvation Army.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., participants will present their best recipes for beef, chicken or vegetable chili at the Twin Oaks Assisted Living center.

Carolyn Mallard, co-executive director of the Salvation Army, will be one of the those joining several Williamsport staff members and residents to judge the entries and determine the winners.

Residents, staff, family and friends will be able to sample the various chili recipes. A voluntary $5 donation will go to the Salvation Army to further assist their efforts for the community.
