Intruders chased off

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Two intruders were chased off when confronted at a Fayetteville residence Saturday night, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Police said two people climbed over a back yard fence on Fifth Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. and approached a garage where they were confronted by a visiting friend. Other people came out of the house and two teenage boys chased the two people into a cornfield behind Fayetteville Tire on Main Street.

Driver hits porch

ST. THOMAS, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police said the driver of a vehicle was unhurt Sunday morning when it crashed into a brick wall and porch at 5178 Lincoln Way West.

Police said Marvin Carbaugh, 54, address unavailable, of Chambersburg, was traveling east at 1:28 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle.


City men charged

Two Hagerstown men were charged with drug offenses Thursday in connection with Washington County Narcotics Task Force operations, the task force said.

The task force said agents served search warrants at two residences and found various drugs. Both men were arrested at their homes.

Terrance J. Grant, 25, of 301 N. Locust St., was charged with possession and possession with intent to distribute cocaine and marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance, the task force said.

Alfred Anderson, 30, of 18782 Diller Drive, was charged with possession of and possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of marijuana, the task force said.
