FREDERICK, Md. - Tim Abercrombie scored 23 points and went 5-for-8 from 3-point range to lead No. 1 Thomas Johnson to an easy 60-38 win over Westminster (8-8, 4-4) in the MVAL Chesapeake on Friday night.

Jair Brady added nine points and nine rebounds for the Patriots (16-1, 8-0), who built a 15-point lead going into halftime and never looked back. Josh Alderson scored six points and pulled down eight rebounds.

No. 4 Goretti 51, Cardinal Gibbons 47

Joe Spierenburg had 18 points and seven blocks to lead St. Maria Goretti over Cardinal Gibbons in the Baltimore Catholic League.

Gene Johnson added 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Gaels (16-8, 5-5).

Matt Grace scored 18 points for Cardinal Gibbons (11-14, 1-9).

No. 7 Middletown 70, Tuscarora 53

FREDERICK, Md. - Jonathan Hall scored a career-high 28 points to lead Middletown to an MVAL Piedmont win over Tuscarora.


Hall scored 19 of his points in the first half and finished the game 11 of 19 from the field - including 4 of 7 from beyond the arc. Joe Keimig had 11 points, 12 assists, seven rebounds and four steals, while Zach Miss had 12 points and Patrick Carney added 10 for the Knights (13-3, 7-1).

Hamilton Woodfolk had 12 points and Brian Sweeney had 10 for Tuscarora (10-6, 4-4). Danny Reed had nine points, Malcolm Kattes had eight and Mitchell Weedon had seven rebounds.

No. 9 North 76, Boonsboro 54

BOONSBORO - Quielan Gantt scored 21 of his game-high 25 points in the first half to lead North Hagerstown past Boonsboro in MVAL Antietam action.

Gantt also grabbed nine rebounds for the Hubs (13-4, 9-0), who extended their winning streak to 10 games. Dee Mency had 23 points, while Jarell Rodriguez added eight to go with nine assists. Tyrell Wilson and Colby Thompson each had seven rebounds.

Boonsboro (4-13, 3-6) cut the lead to eight in the fourth, but North went on a 10-0 run to put the game away.

Todd Potter had 12 points and eight rebounds and Kyle Kane had 10 points for the Warriors. Mike DeBarge had nine points and four steals and Travis Johnson dished out five assists.

Williamsport 63, Brunswick 57

FREDERICK, Md. - David Warrenfeltz scored 23 points and Corey Broadwater added 17 to lead Williamsport (7-8, 6-3) over Brunswick in the MVAL Antietam.

Joel Hafner had 23 points and three steals, while Chris Papanicolas scored 11 points for Brunswick (7-9, 6-3).

So. Fulton 50, McConnellsburg 27

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Jay Ifert had 15 points and Southern Fulton shut down McConnellsburg in Sideling Hill League action.

Brock Flowers added 10 points for the Indians (16-6, 11-3) while Arik Mills pulled down six rebounds

Matt Spriggs scored 11 points for the Spartans (11-10, 6-8) while Jordan Brady had 10 points.

Greencastle 75, Boiling Springs 69

BOILING SPRINGS, Pa. - Jaren Gembe scored 22 points and Greencastle played strong down the stretch to pull out a win over Boiling Springs (7-16).

Erick Burholder had 10 points for the Blue Devils (9-14), who were down six points going into the final quarter before rallying. Adam Wiestling pulled down eight boards.

Waynesboro 57, Northern 37

DILLSBURG, Pa. - Josh Arendt, Kevin Kline and John Long each had 10 points as Waynesboro eased past winless Northern York (0-23).

Scott Livengood chipped in with eight points and six rebounds for the Indians (14-9). Arendt had four steals, Long had four blocks and Kline had three assists.

Blair Academy 71, Mercersburg 62

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Mercersburg Academy was outscored 20-8 in the third quarter and the Blue Storm fell in the Mid-Atlantic Prep League.

Eric Rauhauser led Mercersburg (6-11, 0-4) with 20 points, while Colin Cubit added 13. Andre Smith and Eduardo Archibold-Brown each chipped in with eight points.

Shamari Spears had 28 points and Matt Szalachowski added 14 for Blair (9-11, 3-2).

James Buchanan 56, Camp Hill 46

CAMP HILL, Pa. - Shane Rife had a double-double with 15 points and 11 points as James Buchanan defeated Camp Hill (10-13).

Dion Lehman added a game-high 17 points for the Rockets (13-10) while Brandon Bryan had seven points and four assists.

Shalom 39, Grace 32

Josh Raber and Anthony Butz each had 12 points as Shalom Christian outscored Grace Academy 15-4 in the fourth quarter for the Mason Dixon Christian Conference win.

Raber and Koontz each had four points during the fourth-quarter comeback for the Flames (12-5, 10-0).

Zack Koontz led Grace (5-10, 4-6) with 11 points and eight rebounds, while David Hardcastle scored nine.


No. 1 Hedgesville 84, Hancock 68

HANCOCK - Miranda Reed had 24 points and Samantha Guell added 23 to lead Hedgesville past Hancock in Apple Valley League action.

Lauren Ashton had 16 points and Jennie Finafrock added 15 for the Eagles (15-1, 7-0), who have won five straight.

Dana Beaver led all scorers with 26 points to go with five rebounds and four steals for Hancock (6-10, 2-4). Jennifer Willison had 23 points and a season-high 23 rebounds, while Kris Creek added 13 points and four assists.
