W.Va. man shocked by power line listed in critical condition

RANSON, W.Va. - A Ranson man who was shocked while working on a house Wednesday afternoon in Ranson was listed in critical condition at Washington (D.C.) Hospital Center Thursday afternoon.

Billy Carroll, 29, of 127 W. 7th Ave. was handling a piece of aluminum trim when he touched a power line with the trim, said Donald Longerbeam, assistant chief of the Independent Fire Co.

Carroll was shocked and fell off a scaffold, which was about 20 feet to 30 feet high, Longerbeam said.

The house is at the intersection of Marshall Street and 7th Avenue.
