Courtney-Kerns


Mr. and Mrs. Steven Courtney of Hancock announce the engagement of their daughter, Alicia Dawn Courtney, to Jonathan Paul Kerns, son of Daniel and Debbie Kerns of Hancock.

Ms. Courtney is a 2001 graduate of Hancock High School, and received an associate of science degree in nursing from Allegany College of Maryland in 2003. She is employed as a registered nurse with Mid-Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists in Hagerstown.

Mr. Kerns is a 1998 graduate of Hancock High School and received a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from University of Maryland in 2003. He is employed with the City of Hagerstown.

An Oct. 15, 2005, wedding is planned.




Villanova-Payonk


Edward and Nancy (Shives) Villanova of Phoenixville, Pa., announce the engagement of their daughter, Nicole Villanova, to Jeremy Payonk, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Payonk of Macungie, Pa.

Ms. Villanova is a 1999 graduate of Phoenixville Area High School and received a bachelor of science degree in marine biology from Kutztown University in Kutztown, Pa., in 2003. She is employed with Bristol-Myers Squibb in New Brunswick, N.J.

Mr. Payonk is a 1999 graduate of Emmaus High School, and received a bachelor's degree in social work from Kutztown University in 2004. He is employed with Northwestern Human Services in Bethlehem, Pa.

A Sept. 17 wedding is planned.




Crider-Maloy


Michele Lynn Crider and Michael Lynn Maloy of Hagerstown announce their engagement.

Miss Crider is the daughter of Pamela and John Footen of Hagerstown and the late Michael Crider. She is a 1995 graduate of Williamsport High School. She is a sales and service associate at U.S. Postal Service's Hagerstown post office.

Mr. Maloy is the son of Sue and Charles Keckler of Hagerstown and Richard and Connie Maloy of Hagerstown. He is a 1995 graduate of Williamsport High School. He is an electrician apprentice at CBS Electric in Hagerstown.

A May 21, 2005, wedding is planned.




Bateman-Rose


Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Rose of Hagerstown announce the engagement of their grandson, Caleb Page Rose of Greencastle, Pa., to Jessica Lyn Bateman of St. Albans, W.Va. Mr. Rose is the son of Rodney and Julie Rose of Greencastle.

Mr. Rose is a 1996 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School and received a bachelor of arts degree in clinical psychology from East Carolina University and a master of arts degree in clinical psychology from Marshall University in 2004. He is pursuing an doctorate in higher education. He is employed as a student development specialist with University of Arkansas.

Ms. Bateman is a 2004 graduate of Marshall University. She is employed as a teacher at the elementary level for the Fayetteville, Ark., school system.

A June wedding is planned.




Burcker-Dunkle


Ronald and Lorraine Burcker of Greencastle, Pa., announce the engagement of their daughter, Kayla Renee Burcker, to Brandon Robert Dunkle, son of Robert and Saundra Dunkle of Greencastle.

Miss Burcker is a 2001 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School and plans to graduate from Messiah College in Grantham, Pa., in May with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is employed with Waynesboro Hospital in Waynesboro, Pa., and with Pinnacle Health in Harrisburg, Pa.

Mr. Dunkle is a 2001 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School and plans to graduate from Messiah College in May with a bachelor of science degree in engineering. He is employed with Miss Burcker's father in Greencastle.

An Oct. 22, 2005, wedding is planned.




Pickens-Crampton


Randy and Kathy Pickens of Clear Spring announce the engagement of their daughter, Wendy Sue Pickens, to Jeremy Raylynn Crampton, son of Lou Ann Eichelberger and Jerry Crampton of Sharpsburg.

Ms. Pickens is a 1992 graduate of Clear Spring High School and received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Shippensburg University in 1996. She is employed as the corporate controller for Homewood Retirement Centers in Williamsport.

Mr. Crampton is a 1992 graduate of Boonsboro High School. He is a self-employed contractor.

Miller-Fearnow


Natascha Renee Miller and Brent Aaron Fearnow announce their engagement.

Ms. Miller is the daughter of Gary and Dee Miller of Hagerstown. She is a 1997 graduate of Smithsburg High School. She is self-employed as a child-care provider.

Mr. Fearnow is the son of Vicki and Michael Hammond and Frank Fearnow Jr., all of Hagerstown. He is a 1998 graduate of South Hagerstown High School. He is employed as a technician with Massey Auto Group in Hagerstown.

An April 30, 2005, wedding is planned.




Fortney-South


Erika Kathryn Fortney and Christopher Ned South announce their engagement.

Ms. Fortney is the daughter of Eric and Deborah Fortney of Martinsburg, W.Va. She is a 1994 graduate of Shepherd College. She is employed as a registered nurse with City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Mr. South is the son of Douglas and Wanda South of Hagerstown. He is a 1999 graduate of North Hagerstown High School. He is employed with JPMorgan Chase & Co., in Frederick, Md.

A June 4 wedding in Chesapeake Beach, Md., is planned.




Wynkoop-Crone


Nicole Danielle Wynkoop and Brett Daniel Crone announce their engagement.

Ms. Wynkoop is the daughter of Debbie Myers and James Wynkoop, both of Hagerstown. She is a 1999 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.

Mr. Crone is the son of Daniel and Linda Crone of Hagerstown. He is employed as an electrician as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 26, in Washington, D.C.
