Betty L. Hoover, 75


MAY 4, 1929-FEB. 2, 2005

STREET, Md. - Betty L. Hoover, 75, of Street, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at Mariner Health of Bel Air (Md.).

Born May 4, 1929, in Quincy, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Della Ensminger Zeger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Jay Hoover Sr.

She was a machine operator at Kenny Shoes in Waynesboro.

She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Newby of Street; one son, Warren J. Hoover Jr. of Myerstown, Md.; two sisters, June Ringer of Virginia Beach, Va., and Joyce Palmer of Hanover, Pa.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Peg Snyder.

Services will be Wednesday at noon at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown. Pastor Dean Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Kathy S. Martin, 50


APRIL 7, 1954-FEB. 4, 2005

Kathy Sue Martin, 50, of 11806 Linbar Drive in Hagerstown, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at Washington County Hospital.

Born April 7, 1954, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William G. Sowers Sr. and Evelyn K. Wilson Sowers.

She graduated in 1972 from North Hagerstown High School, where she was a member of the orchestra.

She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.

She is survived by her husband, Michael F. Martin; one daughter, Brooke M. Wood of Williamsport; one brother, William G. Sowers Jr. of Hagerstown; and one aunt.

Memorial services will be Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Scott P. Bellows will officiate.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Betty Gramata, 96


JAN. 31, 1909-FEB. 4, 2005

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Betty Gramata, 96, formerly of 844 S. Coldbrook Ave. died Friday, Feb. 4, 2005.

Born Jan. 31, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Margaret Timko Cone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Gramata.

She was a member of Spirit of Christ Community Church in Chambersburg.

She is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Tosh and Karyn Wagaman, both of Fayetteville, Pa.; one sister, Ann E. Hulsman of Chambersburg; one brother, Elmer Cone of Somerset, Pa.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, two sisters and three brothers.

Services will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg. The Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Charles E. Tabor Jr., 46


MAY 22, 1958-FEB. 3, 2005

FOUNTAINDALE, Pa. - Charles E. "Chuck" Tabor Jr., 46, of Fountaindale, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at Waynesboro (Pa.) Hospital.

Born May 22, 1958, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of Charles E. Tabor Sr. and Lola Devine Tabor of Fountaindale.

He was a 1976 graduate of Fairfield (Pa.) High School.

He last worked as a truck driver for GAF Chemical, now ISP Mineral Inc., in Blue Ridge Summit, Pa.

He was a member of Harley Owners Group, Battlefield Chapter, in Gettysburg, Pa.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Nolan Tabor, whom he married June 19, 1977; one sister, Jean E. Roman of Fountaindale; two brothers, James Tabor of Mont Alto, Pa., and Thomas Tabor of Midlothian, Va.; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Samuel Cool will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairfield (Pa.) Union Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.




Robert E. Butts Jr., 60


MAY 6, 1944-FEB. 3, 2005

Mr. Robert Earl "Bobby" Butts Jr., 60, of 55 E. Washington St. in Hagerstown, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at his home.

Born May 6, 1944, in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late Robert Earl Butts Sr. and Edna Anna Frye Butts.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeraldine Elizabeth Green Butts, on April 22, 1983, and his second wife, Delores Eileen Hileman Butts, on Nov. 30, 2000.

Bobby had been a lifelong dairy farmer.

He had attended the Hagerstown VFW.
