Pa. mobile home damaged by fire

February 04, 2005

ORRSTOWN, Pa. - A mobile home was heavily damaged and a pet died in a fire Thursday afternoon in Letterkenny Township, according to Pleasant Hall Volunteer Fire Co. Asst. Chief Brian Denham.

"It pretty much gutted the middle of it," Denham said of the 3:21 p.m. fire at the home of Barry Worthington, of 12793 Cumberland Highway. He said the Red Cross was contacted to provide emergency housing assistance.

The cause of the fire was undetermined and a Pennsylvania State Police fire marshal was going to investigate. No one was home at the time of the fire and no firefighters were injured, Denham said.

A woman and a 14-year-old boy also lived in the home, but Denham said he did not know if they are related to Worthington. A small dog in the home died in the fire, he said.
