Hospital health programs

Washington County Hospital offers the following programs:

· 10K-A-Day - A walking program which encourages healthier living and improves health by consistently increasing activity and endurance. Call 301-790-8907 for information.

· Aquatics - Aquatic classes offered at Robinwood Medical Center include: aerobics, aqua basics, maintenance, and prenatal swims. Classes also are available for persons with arthritis, diabetes, multiple sclerosis or joint replacement. Call Total Rehab Care at 301-714-4025 or 1-877-793-7422 for a schedule.

· Childbirth education and related classes - The Family Birthing Center at Washington County Hospital offers a variety of classes covering early pregnancy, prepared childbirth, baby care, and infant CPR. Refresher childbirth classes, sibling and breastfeeding classes are offered throughout the year. Call 301-790-8214 for information.

· CPR - Washington County Hospital offers programs for individuals interested in learning CPR or renewing CPR certification. Classes are offered throughout the year. Call 301-790-8907 for a schedule.

· First aid course through the National Safety Council - Washington County Hospital offers a Saturday First Aid course from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. each month. Registration is required and fee is due prior to the class. Call 301-790-8907 for information.

· Yoga - Washington County Hospital offers several yoga classes to meet a variety of needs: seniors, prenatal and postpartum, beginners and experienced. Classes are held at Robinwood Medical Center. For information, call 301-790-8907.

Mommy and Me Fitness

Mommy and Me Fitness class incorporates games and exercise. The class meets at 9 a.m. Thursdays at Waynesboro YMCA.

Adult CPR and first-aid class

A Valentine's Day adult CPR and first-aid class will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14. Punch and snacks will be provided throughout the day. For information, location and to register, call Rachael Horst at 301-739-0717, ext. 214, at the American Red Cross.

Autism walkathon kickoff

CUMBERLAND, Md. - The kickoff banquet for the Cumberland Tri-State Walk F.A.R. for N.A.A.R. Autism Walkathon will be held Friday, Feb. 4, at Ali-Ghan Shrine Club.
