NORTH EAST, Md. - Alonzo Patterson did it all for HCC, scoring 15 points to go along with seven rebounds, six assists and five steals to help the Hawks hand Cecil its first loss of the season.
David Miner had 10 points and a team-high 11 rebounds for the Hawks (13-5, 10-2), who led 40-23 at halftime in the Maryland JuCo Conference game.
Adam Gonzalez had 25 points for Cecil.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
HCC 73, Lehigh-Carbon 49
SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. - Christine Ennis had 13 points, seven rebounds and four steals to lead Hagerstown Comminuty College over Lehigh-Carbon.
Erika McDavid scored 10 points for the Hawks (11-7, 6-5), while Gina Harshman and Nicole Brown added 10 points each. Veronica Johnson had five assists for HCC.
Hood's Willis honored
Hood College junior forward Rita Willis was named a D3hoops.com Player of the Week for leading the Blazers (8-6) to a 3-0 record in the week of Jan. 17-23.
Willis averaged 17.3 points, 8.6 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 3.6 steals per game in in Hood's victories over Haverford, Trinity and Chatham.

BALTIMORE - Mercersburg Academy swept the first eight matches in its victory over Saint Paul.

BALTIMORE - No. 1 Scott Neherbras scored a 3-1 victory for Mercersburg Academy's only match win against Gilman.

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Lizz Harvey won the No. 8 match for Mercersburg Academy's only win against Potomac School.
Catelyn Wiley fell, 3-2, in the No. 6 match for the Blue Storm (2-5).

Smithsburg 44, Catoctin 30: Chelsea Hoover had 15 point and Kirsten Cacciola had 13 for Smithsburg (6-1).
FRESHMAN BOYS HOOPS
Smithsburg 56, Catoctin 35: Jay Hilderbrand had nine points, while Jon Vick and Adam Fay each added eight to lead Smithsburg (9-0). Terry Sword grabbed eight rebounds in the win.
Clear Spring 60, Southern Fulton 30: Bret Turner had 25 points and Aaron Mills scored 18 for Clear Spring (6-3).
Clear Spring 41, Boonsboro 27: Jordan Weaver scored 13 points for Clear Spring on Tuesday.
